Logging in to Backhandsmash with MATCHi
What has changed?
Backhandsmash has switched to MATCHi for all logins. This means you will now log in through the MATCHi login page — the same one used by all other MATCHi applications.
Your old Backhandsmash username and password will no longer work. You must use a MATCHi account to log in going forward.
For existing Backhandsmash users
If you connected your MATCHi account in the MATCHi mobile app
Log in with that same MATCHi account. Your Backhandsmash profile and all your data will be available automatically. The connection will be preserved both in the app and on the web.
If you have NOT connected a MATCHi account
Log in or create a MATCHi account using the same email address as your Backhandsmash account. The system will automatically match and connect the accounts based on the email.
Forgotten your Backhandsmash email?
If you remember your old Backhandsmash username and password but have forgotten which email was associated with your account, you can retrieve it using our self-service tool:
- Go to the Retrieve Email page: backhandsmash.com/Account/RecoverEmail
- Enter your old Backhandsmash username and old password
- The system will display your email address and show whether your account is already connected to MATCHi
After retrieving your email:
- If connected: Your account is already linked to MATCHi. Simply log in with your MATCHi account.
- If not connected: Create a new MATCHi account using the displayed email address, or log in with an existing MATCHi account that uses that email. If you no longer have access to that email, contact support for help changing it.

For new users
Simply create a MATCHi account. A Backhandsmash profile will be created and connected to your MATCHi account automatically.
Need help?
If you have logged in with a MATCHi account but your old Backhandsmash data is missing, your accounts may not be correctly linked. Contact support with the following information:
- Your Backhandsmash account: username and email
- Your MATCHi account: email address
Support will manually connect the correct accounts for you.
If you no longer have access to the email associated with your Backhandsmash account, contact support for assistance.
