If you are missing players for a match, you can now make that booking public so other players in MATCHi can discover it. You set a level range for the match, and others can request to join you by providing their level. As the booker, you have full control over who is accepted or declined for your match. This will help you fill your matches with players on the same level and hopefully let you to play more.

Please note that Public matches are only available in the mobile app, not on the web.
Any court booking can be made into a public match. Open the booking from the “Upcoming Bookings” tab.
Click “Need more players” to enter the visibility settings of the match.- You have the option to lock spots by clicking the lock in the player component. This is good to use if you have someone joining your match that is not a MATCHi user. Locked spots will not be open for other players to request to join.

You can now see that your match is public. In this view, you can also handle incoming requests. Please enable push notifications to be notified about requesting players.

In the play tab, click on “Matches” to find public matches near you.
In the match list, you will see Public matches based on your filters.If you click on a match, you will see details about it.
- See which players are already in the match and how many spots are available. If you click on a player, you can view their profile and send a friend request.
- You are required to set a level. This is self-assessed and used by the booker to create a fun and balanced match.
- You can choose to write a message to the booker. Here it’s good to include your contact details.
- Price for a spot tells you how much you have to pay to join if you get accepted (if the booking is made with split payment).
- When you click “Request to join”, the booker will be notified about your request.
In the “Upcoming bookings” tab, you will see your requests as “pending” until the booker has acted on your request. You will be notified via push notification.
Once the booker has accepted your request, you will be notified via push notification. You then have to pay your part to confirm your spot. Click “Pay now” and follow the instructions in the checkout.
Upon successful payment, you become a part of the match!

As a booker, you cancel the public match just like any other bookings. You simply click “Cancel booking” at the bottom of the booking page. Any participant or requester will be notified that the booking is cancelled. The venue’s current cancellation rules apply.
If you have joined a public match and want to leave it, you click “Leave booking” at the bottom of the booking page. The booker will be notified.
- When you make a booking, you can invite friends by clicking the “Invite symbol” in the booking. This can be done before or after payment. You can choose to add players from your friend list, see more information here, or send a link to the booking. When you have invited your friends, they will have to accept to claim a spot in the booking.
