Match chats

What is a match chat?
- A match chat lets players communicate directly with others in the same booking. It’s available for court bookings, whether public or private, and includes all confirmed participants.

Where can I access match chats?
- You can access them from the message center in the top header of the app, or directly from the booking details screen of a match where you are a confirmed participant.

How do I start or leave a match chat?
- To start a match chat, there must be at least two confirmed participants. Only confirmed players are included.

- You can leave a match chat at any time by tapping the chat title to open the group info page. If you rejoin later, previous messages will still be visible.

What happens when a match is completed or cancelled?
- Completed matches can still be accessed through your historical bookings or the message center. You can read and continue previous conversations if necessary.

- If the match is cancelled you can still access the ongoing chat from the message center.

What happens when players join or leave a match?
- Leaving: Players who leave the match are automatically removed from the chat.
- Joining: New confirmed participants are added automatically if the chat is active, and they can see the full chat history.


Direct messages (DMs)

What are direct messages?
- Direct messages (DMs) allow private one-to-one chats with another player, without needing an active match booking. You can use DMs to coordinate games, stay in touch, or chat with friends.

How do I start a DM?
- You can start a DM from a player’s profile or the message center. Only players with a public profile can be messaged. Only one conversation per player exists.

Can I leave a DM?
- It’s not possible to leave a DM chat. You can delete the chat from your own history, but the other participant will still see all messages. This action cannot be undone.


Private Profiles

How do private profiles affect chats?
If your profile is private:
- You cannot start new chats or receive new DMs from others.
- In ongoing chats, your profile is shown as anonymous, and others appear anonymous to you.
- You can still respond to existing chats.


Notifications

Will I get notifications for new messages?
Yes. Notifications include:
- In-app badges showing new messages in the message center
- Push notifications if enabled
You can manage push notifications in your profile settings.

Blocking users

Can I block someone?
Yes. Blocking a user:
- Removes them from your friends list and hides your profile from them
- Prevents them from sending new DMs
- Deletes the DM history between you and that user
- Does not affect ongoing or future match chats
- Does not notify the blocked user

Blocked users can be managed in your profile settings.

How long do chats last?

Chats (match chats and DMs) remain accessible for 6 months after the last message was sent.
