In-app messages from your venue

MATCHi allows venues to send important updates directly to you through in-app messages. Here’s where to find them and how to control your notifications.

Where do I find the messages?

All messages are collected in the app’s Notification Center.

  1. Open the MATCHi app
  2. Tap the bell icon at the top of the screen
  3. You’ll see a list of all messages from your venues, sorted by time

You’ll see a red badge on the icon when you have unread messages.

How are messages displayed?

  • They appear as a feed in the Notification Center
  • Each message shows which venue it came from
  • When you open a message, it’s marked as read and the badge updates

If you have push notifications enabled, you’ll also receive a push when a new message is sent.

How do I manage push notifications?

Push notifications are controlled in two steps:

1. In your phone settings

Push must be allowed on your device.

iOS: Settings → MATCHi → Notifications → Allow notifications

Android: Settings → Apps → MATCHi → Notifications → Allow

2. In the MATCHi app

You can mute push notifications for in-app messages while still seeing the messages inside the app.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Profile → tap the three dots next to your profile picture (…)
  2. Select Push notifications
  3. Here you can choose whether you want push notifications for venue messages or not

You will still see the messages in the list, just without push alerts.

How do I manage subscriptions from a specific venue?

If you no longer want to receive in-app messages from a particular venue, you can turn them off:

  1. Open a message from the venue
  2. Tap “Unsubscribe”
  3. You will no longer receive in-app messages from that venue

You can enable them again at any time using the same button (“Resubscribe”).
