If you have made a purchase at a venue that has subsequently gone bankrupt, there is often little chance of getting a refund from the bankruptcy estate as you are probably considered a non-priority creditor.
Rules on cancellation of purchases made up to the date of bankruptcy, for example, have no effect when a company is declared bankrupt. However, you can always report your claim to the bankruptcy trustee and if it is the case that a distribution to non-priority creditors may take place after all, you can then report your claim to the district court. In cases where there is money left over, there may be a partial distribution to non-priority creditors and the person who filed their claim will then have the opportunity for some repayment.
